Chennai Police rescues two Hyderabadi businessmen

Chennai, Sept 20: In a bravery incident, The Chennai Police have rescued two Hyderabadi businessmen from drowning in the sea off Marian beach on Monday evening.

The details reported that The duo, identified as Ramana,35, and Narendra,29, are brothers and on vacation in Chennai.

They had visited their sister Dhanalakshmi staying with her family in Chennai after which they went to the beach. Around 4 pm, they were playing in the waters behind the Labour statue when they were engulfed by a giant wave.

Their family members raised an alarm following which police personnel rushed to the scene. The duo were rescued and treated at the Government hospital nearby. While Ramana was treated as an outpatient, Narendra was admitted to the GH as he consumed seawater.

The City police commissioner A.K. Viswanathan commended the two armed reserve police constables Ramanan and Vinoth Kumar for rescuing the duo in time.
