Bengaluru hospital denies treatment new born girl died

A new born girl with a hole in her heart died at Narayana institute of cardiac sciences in Bengaluru, when the hospital refused to give free treatment under Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Upchar Yojana. The hospital said that MP government already owed them hospital dues worth Rs 6 crores.

Under the scheme all tests are done free of cost and all for operations under the Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Upchar Yojana for all children aged 0-18 years suffering from serious heart ailments is also free.

Father of the child Manoj Verma, a fruit seller, said "The hospital refused to give free examination under the RBSK scheme saying that the Madhya Pradesh government owed them Rs 6.03 crore, which the government was not paying despite several reminders," a very distraught father Verma said and also added that he had to pay Rs 86,000 for basic tests.

However hospital denied the allegation and said that the child’s parent decided to move the child to Madhya Pradesh against hospital advice.
