Gold,Silver prices today

New Delhi, Sept 18: Gold prices today have dropped significantly.The prices have dropped by Rs 150 per 10 grams today extending fall for the third day.Similarly, Silver prices too fell further by Rs 200 per Kg due to reduced offtake by industrial units and coin makers.

Experts said a weak trend overseas, rising dollar eroding the appeal of the precious metals as a safe haven investment, influenced prices at domestic markets, tepid demand from local jewelers and retailers at the domestic spot market dampened.

Globally, gold fell 0.45 percent to $ 1,313.20 an ounce.The gold prices are as follows 10 grams gold costs Rs 30,700.Sovereign, however, remained unaltered at Rs 24,700 per piece of eight grams.

Silver costs Rs 41,200 per kg and weekly-based delivery slipped by Rs 255 to Rs 40,560 per kg.On the other hand, silver coins maintained a steady trend at Rs 74,000 for buying and Rs 75,000 for selling of 100 pieces.
