GST effect on TTD calenders and dairies

Tirupati, Sept 17: The India's unique taxation system GST (Good and Service Tax) has hit the TTD prints calendar and diaries, which sells them every year at subsidized prices. For the year 2018, TTD has increased the prices of the daily calendars and diaries.

In order to attract and get a wholesome response from the buyers, TTD has started printing more variety of pictures including the image of Lord Venkateswara, deities on different carriages during festivals, Abhishekha Aaradhanai, Theerthavari, and Varalakshmi Viratham in their daily calendars, monthly calendars, and diaries.

Currently, TDD has entrusted this task to a private agency. As a tradition, the calendars and diaries will be released in an inaugural function by the state Chief Minister the day before the commencement of Brahmotsavam.

In the current year, mainly due to the implementation GST from this year, TTD has increased the prices of the diaries and calendars for the year 2018.

The Chief Minister of Andhra, Chandrababu Naidu, will release the new calendars and diaries in the evening on 22nd September. This time, 20 Lakhs daily sheet calendars and 15 Lakh diaries have been printed.

Just like the previous year, these items would be put up for sales during the Brahmotsavam festival at the TTD Book Sales centers.

The hiked prices list is following below:

Ezhumalaiyan - Padmavathi images - Rs.7 to Rs.10
Ezhumalaiyan - Rs.10 to Rs.15
Daily calendar with Panjangam - Rs.15 to Rs.20
Monthly 12-pages colour calendar - Rs.75 to Rs.90
Small diary - Rs.75 to Rs.90
Large diary - Rs.100 to Rs.120
