Gurgaon woman arrested for slapping Army man, video goes viral

Gurugram, September 16: A woman was arrested for attacking an Armyman near the Rajokri flyover in connection with a case of road rage on Monday. A video, showing the woman thrashing the Army personnel on the road while others are stopping to look on, has gone viral on the social media.

Police said the incident took place on September 9 but was reported on September 13 after which the woman was arrested. The accused, Smriti Kalra, was granted bail soon after by a metropolitan magistrate.

In their complaint, the Armymen told the police that the incident took place around 1.30 pm when they were on their way to the Nizamuddin railway station from the NSG base in Manesar.



The culprit lady has been charged with "causing hurt to deter a public servant". She has also been booked under the charges of obstructing and assaulting a public servant on duty and "wrongful restraint".

Her car has been seized by the Delhi Police.
