HC :No Floor test in TN Assembly

Chennai Sept 15: The Madras High Court today has ordered that no floor test would be conducted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly till September 20.

The court has given the judgment after hearing the pleas filed by opposition DMK leader M K Stalin and AIADMK MLA P Vetrivel.

Earlier the Opposition leader Stalin has said that "He meets the governor and has asked him to order for floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly because the government is in the minority after 19 MLAs of the AIADMK have withdrawn their support".



He sought the court order that the speaker not to disqualify the MLAs so that the government wins trust vote even though it would be in minority.

AIADMK MLA P Vetrivel has claimed that it would be inappropriate for the speaker to disqualify us just because we withdrew support from the government.

Finally, the court has agreed with both the petitioners.
