India to Manufacture 50 Crore Mobiles

New Delhi Sept 14: PM Narendra Modis dream project Make in India is showing its results. The Information Technology Officials have said the mobile manufacturing in India has picked up a fast pace. The officials have released the official data yesterday.

* India will Manufacture 50 Crore mobile by 2020 domestically.

* 6 crore mobiles were manufactured in 2014.

* 17.5 Crore Mobile Phones were manufactured in 2016-17.

* The value addition in these indigenously made phones has also grown significantly.

* 10 % value addition took place in 2014.

* 20 % percent value addition will take place in 2016.

* It is expected that 35 % value addition would take place by 2020

Experts say that the main reasons for the growth in domestic manufacture of mobile phones in India are

* Reforms were undertaken by the government.

* Special incentives for mobile manufacturing

* GST has played a key role in improving transport and logistics.
