Bathukamma sarees distribution

Hyderabad, Sept 12: The Telangana Minister for Handlooms and Textiles KT Rama Rao has instructed the officials to ensure that Bathukamma sarees are distributed among women in all districts within September 20th. The sarees will reach all points in the districts by September 16 and distribution should be taken up for next three days up to September 19, the KTR said.

The Minister KTR held a meeting on Monday at Begumpet camp office here on sarees distribution scheme and instructed that the officials make advance arrangements avoiding any inconvenience. The scheme helped the weavers community as well as giving happiness to the women on the occasion of Dasara festival, the minister noted.



About Rs 1.06 crore of Bathukamma sarees will be distributed to the women in all districts to mark Dasara festival, he said. The government is giving full cooperation to weavers and handloom sector with all subsidies and financial assistance.

He said that steps will be taken to establish the norm of collecting clothes from weavers and ensure them an adequate income.
