Indian Muslims Protest against Myanmar Govt

Kolkatta Sept 12: Indian Muslim Welfare Organisations have protested against the Atrocities that are taking place against the Muslims of Rohingyas in Myanmar.

The organizations have burnt the effigy of Myanmar's State Councillor and Nobel Peace laureate Aung San Suu Kyi yesterday and have also held a rally.

Furfura Sharif Peerzada Toha Siddiqui said that "We are extremely aggrieved about the ongoing heinous atrocities on Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. Thousands of Rohingya Muslims including children have been killed by the police and military in that country. The Myanmar government must take responsibility".

A ten-member delegation from ten Muslim organizations also submitted a memorandum demanding that its government protect the Rohingya Muslims by visiting Myanmar Consulate.

Currently, Rohingyas in Myanmar face discrimination and are ripped off from utilizing their fundamental right such as right to education and work and they are also being discriminated socially so many Muslims have left the country and they are seeking refugees in Bangladesh and other countries.
