China, India front runners in promoting electric cars

Beijing Sept 11: China has stepped up its fight against climate change and global warming. Currently the country is planning to ban all the vehicles which are driven by conventional fuels .Sources say that the country wants to become an inspiration in the fight against climate change.

Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said: "The government is working with other regulators on a timetable to end production and sales."

He has also said that "the move will have a profound impact on the environment and growth of China’s auto industry".

However, Auto Mobile manufacturers have said that" the date for the ban of diesel and petrol vehicles has not been fixed but 2040 may be he last date for vehicles which run on the gas".

meanwhile, India is also taking steps to be a front runner in implementing Paris climate change as a part of this India has decided that by 2030 all vehicles on the roads would be only electric vehicles. Recently the Government has also launched FAME scheme to promote electric cars. The country has also increased the solar capacity.

However Indian manufacturers have expressed their concerns and Nitin Gadkari union Transport Ministry has said that all car manufacturers must design and produce new electric vehicles.
