Secunderabad Oliphant Bridge revamped

Hyderabad Sept 11: A relief was granted to Motorists and pedestrians after the Oliphant Bridge was opened for traffic on Sunday. The bridge was closed last month due to ongoing steel bridge for the construction of Metro rail in the city.

Currently, the historic bridge plays a key area in Secunderabad, connecting various parts of the city. many people have faced traffic jams and the traffic was diverted due to ongoing works. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has also repaired the bridge during the closure of the bridge.

* The damaged paver blocks and road was cleared and replaced with a new black top stretch.

* Rs. 90 lakh was spent on laying the new road with steel fiber was under both the RUBs.

* New footpaths under the RUB were laid.

* Steel railings installed.



* Steel pipes were laid to ensure smooth flow of stormwater.

* The road was extended from the RUB end towards Chilkalguda.

* The dingy place under the bridge was cleaned and painted.

Finally, many commuters and pedestrians have expressed happiness that the historic bridge which was dirty and damaged was repaired so that people can travel freely.
