Indian challenge ends: Sania Mirza and Peng Shuai loses in US Open womens doubles semis

Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner Peng Shuai got defeated by Martina Hingis and Chan Yung-Jan in the semi-final of the women’s doubles encounter in the US Open 2017. They lost the match by 4-6, 4-6 on Friday. Indian challenge ended with Sania’s defeat.

Sania and peng played with confidence and scored 3-0 lead in the first set in the first-set against Hingis’ serve. But the Swiss-Taiwanese duo staged a remarkable comeback and won the next four points and made 4-6 score.



In the second set Sania and peng did well with 3-1 but this was leveled by Hingis-Chan who made 4-4. Finally . Hingis-Chan calmly sealed the game and they won the second set to enter into the final with a score of 4-6.
