Delhi High Court notices to Patanjali

New Delhi Sept 8: The Delhi High Court yesterday has ordered Patanjali Ayurved Ltd to stop airing advertisements to promote its brand of 'Chyawanprash'.

The order was passed by High Court during the hearing of the case filed by Dabur company. The company has alleged that its rival brand's commercials disparaged its product.

A bench of judges has passed an interim order and restrained Patanjali from airing, telecasting and circulating the advertisements in any manner till September 26.

The court has also sought the stand of Baba Ramdev company on the plea filed by Dabur India Ltd, which claims to be the largest manufacturer of ayurvedic medicine and natural consumer products.

Meanwhile in another order recently the Delhi High Court has ordered Patanjali Ayurved to stop airing TV ads for its soaps.

The Court decision came after Reckitt Benckiser company has approached the court.The consumer goods major claimed that its rival allegedly disparaged its soap brand - Dettol.

A day earlier the Bombay High court has ordered the company to stop airing the soap advertisements after HUL has filed a case.

Sources say that Baba Ramdev Company has launched similar products and renamed Dettol as 'Dhitol', Pears as 'Tears', Lifebuoy as 'Lifejoy', Lux as Flux,
Dove is 'Glove'.
