Bengaluru Sept 6: US-based research firm HfS Research has conducted a survey regarding the job losses in IT industry. The results of the survey are
* About 7 Lakh jobs will be lost on account of automation in Indian IT by 2022.
* Number of 'medium-skilled' jobs would increase by
1 Lakh by 2022.
* Number of 'high-skilled' jobs would be increased by 1.9 lakh by 2022
* 7.5 % jobs would be at loss in the IT industry of the globe in next 5 years.
* More number of jobs would be lost in countries such as US, UK, and India.
* The IT jobs in the Philippines would increase.
* Aggressive uptake of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI are the major reasons for the loss of jobs.
* 57 % increase in high skilled jobs is expected
Finally, the survey has said that at least 20 % of the workforce must be reskilled to retain their jobs in the IT Industry.
