DGCA notices to Air India staff

New Delhi, Sept 6: A strict action may be taken. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) may take a stringent action against 130 pilots and 430 crew members of Air India. Sources say that action may be taken against them because they allegedly skip the mandatory pre- and post-flight alcohol test.

Currently the Staff travel to following destinations
* Singapore
* Kuwait
* Bangkok
* Ahmedabad
* Goa
have not been taking the breath-analyzer test for some time and they are risking the lives of passengers.

DGCA officials have said that notices have been issued to the pilots and other crew members and they would be ground them in the phased manner. Many airline staff have opposed the decision and said that "DGCA has unfairly targeted us and many other private airlines have also flouted rules and no action is being taken against them."
