Protests erupt over Journalist Murder

Bengaluru, Sept 6: A murder has shocked the country. Senior Journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead yesterday at her residence. This incident has created strong ripples across all sections of the society.

Many Politicians, Celebrities have condemned her death.Meanwhile, protests have erupted all across the Bengaluru. Many journalist organizations have said that they would hold protest against her death all across the country.

Sources say that they are planning to protest in Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad, Trivandrum etc. Meanwhile, police have arrested 2 persons relating to the case.



However, their details have not been disclosed. Many journalists and Lankesh family demanded a CBI probe must be conducted and justice must be delivered.

Reacting to this incident Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani on twitter has said that "Condemn killing of #GauriLankesh. Hope speedy investigation is conducted &justice delivered. Condolences to the family."

However many woman activists and opposition believe that RSS and its affiliates may have a role in the murder of the journalist. Police have said that the investigation is on.
