Gauri Lankesh, senior journalist shot dead

Senior Kannada journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead at her residence in Bengaluru. Unidentified assailants shot her today near the entrance if her house .

More than one bullet was shot and she died immediately. She owned some publications and was the ditor of kannada tabloid 'Lankesh Patrike'.

She was a outspoken person and was known for her straight forward views against Hindutva Politics.Assumptions are being drawn that the murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar , M M Kalburgi ,and murder of Gauri Lankesh are .she wrote articles against some saffron members and the link is drawn based on it.



Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said"She was returning from Gandhinagar after attending some official work, and was shot dead after she had alighted from her car"

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said "truth cannot be silenced" and demanded that the culprits be tracked down and punished. "The truth will never be silenced. Gauri Lankesh lives on in our hearts. My condolences &love to her family. The culprits have to be punished," his office said in a twitter post.
