TPCC Chief: Around 3,500 farmers committed suicide in TRS ruling

TPCC Chief open letter to CM KCR over Dalit suicide case

Hyderabad, Sept 5: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that the attacks against Dalits, Tribals, and other weaker sections were raising in the TRS ruling.

He also alleged that, during TRS ruling Around 3,500 farmers have committed suicides in the state in the last three years, most of them are Dalits and tribals. From 2014 to 2016, 1,592 cases were registered in the state under the SC/ST rape preventive Act. 502 women were raped and 120 murdered.

Mr.Uttam Kumar Reddy along with K.Jana Reddy, Shabbir Ali, former PCC Presidents V. Hanumantha Rao and Ponnala Lakshmaiah and other leaders have visited Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad here on Monday, to meet two Dalit youths who attempted suicide by setting themselves ablaze in Manakondur constituency of Karimnagar district.

Seeking immediate action, Mr. Reddy wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao giving a fact sheet which shows that Telangana has emerged as anti-Dalit and anti-Girijan State under the TRS regime.

They took the extreme step over not getting three acres of agricultural land promised by the TRS Government. They have been admitted to Yashoda Hospital in critical condition with 50 per cent burns.

Reacting to the incident, the TPCC President said that the incident shows the rising discontent and disappointment among people, especially Dalits and Girijans, against the TRS Government over its failure to fulfill electoral promises.
