Caste panchayat of Madhya Pradesh punishes elderly women

An elderly widow woman was trying to pull the calf off the lactating cow, but the rope around the neck of calf tightened and it died.

Madhya Pradesh panchayat punished the women in inhuman manner by asking her to beg for seven days outside the village, they even asked the poor women to serve food to girls and take a dip in Ganga.

As soon as the verdict was given, the women fainted hearing it. Her name is Kamleshi Devi (60), and is a resident of Sriwas Nagar.

“In today’s era, such diktats are not justified. Police should take action,” the corporator said.
