GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2018 registration begins

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2018 registration has began.Guwahati-Indian Institute of Technology is incharge for registration process of students. The dates for the test has been announced as 3,4,10,and 11th of February 2018.

The official website for registration is www.gate.iitg.ac.in. Candidates can apply directly through online website.

The examination pattern for GATE is as follows
1)The test will be of 3 hours duration and will have 65 questions for a total of 100 marks.

2)The pattern of questions will be of multiple choice and numerical answer types.

3)GA (general Aptitude) questions will be of 15 marks, this section will include 5 questions, each carrying 1 mark and 5 other questions each carrying 2 marks. GA is mandatory for all GG, XE, XL candidates.

4)GG (Geology and geo physics) will consist of 2 parts, part A will be compulsory for all but part B will have Geology and Geophysics section. Candidates must answer any one section from part B.

5)XE Paper (Engineering Sciences) will have A to H sections, A section is compulsory for all and any one section from B to H must be answered by the candidates.

6)XL Paper (Life Sciences) will have Section P- Chemistry (Compulsory) and Sections Q to U from which candidates must answer any two sections.
