High-tech kitchen launched, midday meals to 35000 children

Hyderabad, Sept 1: The Akshaya Patra Foundation launched a high-tech kitchen on Thursday in Narsingi, Hyderabad that would cater mid-day meals to more than 35,000 children in the state.

The kitchen will be serving 366 Anganwadi centers and 238 schools through the MidDay Meal Program.

Chairman of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Madhu Pandit Dasa said that the foundation is committed to serving the nation and will feed five million children by 2020.

MUFG Regional Executive for India, Ryoichi Shinke said, "By supporting this noteworthy initiative by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, we are providing the necessary conditions for children to attend school and do well."

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Minsiters Mahender Reddy and T Nageshwar Rao and others were present on the occasion.
