AP Govt to setup 500 Anganwadi centers

Vijayawada, Aug 31: The Andhra Pradesh state government has decided on Wednesday that Govt would construct 500 Anganwadi centers in Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool and Guntur districts, each at an estimated cost of Rs. 10 lakh.

The Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar held a review meeting on the implementation of the Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) of the Central government on Wednesday.

He said the MSDP was an area development program, under which infrastructure development and assets creation were done in the Minority Concentration Areas by taking into consideration the tangible and intangible benefits that would reach the minority population of that area.

As many as 11 areas, with a minimum of 25% minority population, had been selected, he said. The government would also construct 100 health sub centers at an estimated cost of Rs. 12 crores. Girl's residential school would be constructed at Prodduturu at an estimated cost of Rs. 23 crore.
