NIT students arrested for possessing drugs

Warangal, Aug 31: As we know that, The drugs scandal has created a sensation in Hyderabad by accusing cine celebrities.

Now, the same drugs case has unveiled in a reputed institution in NIT, Warangal here on Wednesday.

The Warangal Police have arrested two students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, for possessing the Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) drug, also known as acid, on Wednesday.

The arrests have shocked the student and faculty circles of one of the most reputed institutes in India on Wednesday.

Special task force (STF) sleuths from Hyderabad, in coordination with the Station House Officer (SHO), Kazipet, of Excise and Prohibition Department arrested the accused near NIT campus.

Presenting them before the media at his office in Hanamkonda, Deputy Commissioner Suresh Rathod said that the accused were identified as Y Ramesh and G Durjj of Hyderabad who used to order the substance online through a website named 'Dark' and get the substance delivered by post.

Excise officials seized five blots of Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) from the possession of the accused.

"Those who consumed the drug would remain in a state of stupor for about 8 to 10 hours,' Rathod said.

Meanwhile, NIT PRO M Ravinder Reddy said that the arrested were not staying at the campus hostel.
