AIADMK v/s TTV Dinakran?

Chennai Aug 29: The politics of Tamil Nadu has become interesting once again. A crucial meeting of MLAs was called by Cheif Minister Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday decided to convene AIADMK general counsel and executive committee meetings.The meetings would be conveyed to take up some crucial decisions which will be held on September 12.

Sources say that many MLA have skipped the meeting Conveyed yesterday. Nearly 21 MLA who support TTV Dinakaran have not attended the meet and some other MLA who have attended the meet have said that they would never support any attempt to sideline VK Sasikala.

4 resolutions were passed in the meeting:

# Office-bearers and cadres of the party have demanded to convene of the general council and executive committee meetings.

# Another resolution resolved to term appointments, or dismissals, made by Dinakaran invalid.

# The third resolution says the appointment of Sasikala was an interim arrangement, and her appointment of Dinakaran as AIADMK deputy general secretary was against party bylaws.

# The fourth resolution resolves to take legal action over Dr. Namadhu MGR, the party’s media organ, and Jaya TV channel, both of which are controlled by members of Sasikala family.

Meanwhile, today TTV Dhinakaran today has approached the Election Commission and said that the poll panel should hear him before taking any decision on the party's election symbol.

The EC had in March issued an interim order freezing the 'two leaves' election symbol of the AIADMK, saying both the rival camps cannot use the party symbol as well as its name for the prestigious R K Nagar assembly by-poll.

Sources say that the symbol may be frozen for some more time even though both factions of EPS and OPS have merged and the MLA and Ministers will soon withdraw their affidavits submitted but the Dinakaran group has been opposed to the merger.
