India, china Agree to withdraw troops from Doklam:MEA

New Delhi Aug 28: An issue was solved today.
Indian External Affairs Ministry today has announced that "India and China have agreed to an “expeditious disengagement” of their troops who have been locked in a two-months-long face-off along the disputed Doklam region bordering Bhutan and China".

Ministry of external affairs has also said that "In recent weeks, India and China maintained diplomatic communication in respect of incident at Doklam... during these communications, we were able to express our views and convey our concerns and interests".

The statement further continued "On this basis, expeditious disengagement of border personnel at the face-off site at Doklam has been agreed to and is ongoing."

However, the details of when the soldiers of both the countries would be withdrawn were not informed. Earlier both the countries were in a standoff since two months because India has objected the construction of the road in Doklam a Tri-Junction.

There were many provocations from the China from its media and official spokespersons and thretaned there would call a war, however, India has maintained patience and held diplomatic dialogue.

Indian Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured that we would try to solve the problems with dialougue and not war.

Experts have hailed PM for maintaining a firm stand and not buckle under pressure so that China came to its knees and both the countries tried to solve the dispute peacefully.

They have also said that the dialogue comes in the wake of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting China in the first week of September and it is a good diplomatic victory for the country.

Let's hope that his visit be a success and both countries would try to resolve the pending issues.
