Indian Army :No records of Surgical strikes between 2004 and 2014

New Delhi Aug 27: Some Crucial Information was revealed recently.Indian Defense forces have replied to an RTI .

Indian Army Directorate General of Military Operations revealed that "it does not have records of any "surgical strike" conducted before September 29, 2016."

The Army officials have further said that "we have conducted a surgical strike in September last year and we have adressed the press in this regard".The Army has also defined the term "Surgical strike" as sought in RTI


The definition of 'surgical strike' is "an operation which is planned based on specific intelligence, on a legitimate military target for maximum effect and with minimum or no collateral damage. It involves deliberate insertion to target area, precise execution and swift extrication of the body of troops back to the base".

Earlier An RTI was filed seeking whether there was any such action taken between 2004 and 2014.The Army has said that it had no information in this regard.

Last year Indian Army has conducted surgical strikes after Pakistan terrorists have killed Indian soldiers in URI base camp.
