MLA Roja alleged TDP Govt at Kakinada polls campaign

Kakinada, Aug 27: The YSRCP MLA R Roja has called upon voters here on Saturday to exercise their franchise in favour of the opposition party in the elections to the Kakinada Municipal Corporation.

Accompanied by party candidates, Ms. Roja went on a whirlwind tour of several divisions during the day.

Addressing the public, she said the TDP made over 600 promises during the general elections but failed to implement at least some of them in the last three years.

"Chandrababu Naidu is the longest serving Chief Minister in the State. But he failed to undertake development works in the city all these years. As the election notification was released, Mr. Naidu started promising the moon to the public," she said.

Accusing the government of failing to provide employment to the youngsters, Ms. Roja said except Nara Lokesh no one else got a job. No benefit was provided to the unemployed youth, which was another pending promise by the TDP," she said.

Referring to the 'smart city' initiative, Ms. Roja said that non-development of the city was the classic example to showcase the State government's failure in making use of the funds allocated by the Centre.

"There is no commitment towards the public and there is no vision to develop this city and the State", she said.
