20 Lakh people filed Returns

New Delhi Aug 24: India has successfully rolled out Goods and Services Tax from July 1. A data was released regarding the new tax regime.
* Above 20 lakh businesses have paid taxes online so far.
* About 30 lakh more are expected to do so before the deadline of August 25.
* The GSTN has been activated and is accepting all tax returns.
* The Government last week has extended the last date for filing returns by 5 days.
* 48 lakh taxpayers have saved the sales data on the portal.
* Earlier 10 lakh business have paid RS 42000 crore to Government for the Month of July.
Finally, the government hopes that more people would file their returns in upcoming days and pay more taxes.
