Telangana sanctioned Rs.122 Crores to AMRUT scheme

Siddipet, Aug 23: The Telangana Irrigation Minister
T Harish Rao has announced on Tuesday that the State Govt has sanctioned Rs.122 crores to Siddipet Municipality for third and final phase grant under Amrut (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) scheme.

In a press release here on Tuesday, the Minister said that they would complete the underground works already undertaken by the municipality by effectively utilizing the fund.

Stating that they could complete 80 per cent of underground drainage works, he said that they would also restore the flood water drainage of Erra cheruvu, Chinthala cheruvu, and Narsapur cheruvu, besides setting up a sewage treatment plant.

He further said that Siddipet had got highest funds under the Amrut scheme in Telangana after GHMC and Warangal Municipal Corporation.

Harish Rao also announced that they would further develop a park at Komati cheruvu as part of creating urban lung space by spending Rs 1.62 crore.
