GST collections

New Delhi Aug 23: A data was released recently.The government has revealed the benefits of GST.The main highlights of the data revealed are

* Government has received RS 42000 crore in the first month after the New Goods and Tax rolled out on July 1.

* Rs.15000 crore was received under IGST.

* Rs.5000 crore has been received by way of Cess on Demerit goods.

* Rs.22000 crore has been received under CGST and SGST and would be split equally.

* 10 lakh tax payers have filed returns.

* Another 20 lakh have logged in and saved return forms.

* 90-95 % tax payers will file returns and pay taxes by the deadline of August 25.

* Rs 31,782 crore of excise duty was collected in July 2016.

* Rs 19,600 crore of service tax was collected in July last year.

* Total of 60 lakh businesses are expected to file returns and pay taxes for July.

Finally, the government hopes that more revenue will be collected in coming months as many more people file tax returns and pay GST.
