Kurnool, Aug 22: The State Election Commission officer Bhanwar Lal on Monday announced that all arrangements had been made for the August 23 by election in Nandyal. While speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, he asked the voters to exercise their franchise freely.

He said 2,500 police personnel were posted in the constituency besides six companies of paramilitary forces for security during polling. There are 82 flying squads ready for any eventuality.

Security forces have kept a watch on the 141 hyper sensitive and 74 sensitive polling stations out of the total 110 polling stations in the constituency, he said. The Chief Electoral Officer said polling stations would open at 7 am on the day and voters would be allowed inside till 6 pm.

Bhanwar Lal said that there are 2,19,108 voters in the constituency of whom 1,07,778 are men, 1,11,018 are women and 62 others. There are another 250 service votes registered in the constituency, he said. He further said that they have received 360 complaints and all were addressed so far.

He asked outsiders to leave Nandyal as the campaign concluded at 5 pm. When asked about the TDP MPs complaining against him to the Chief Election Commissioner, the CEO said that everyone has the right to make a complaint.
