15 kg gold seized in Chennai Airport

Chennai, August 22: The customs officials have seized whomping 15 kgs of gold at the Chennai airport and arrested two persons on the charge of smuggling.

Coming to details, The Commissioner of Customs officials the contraband was found upon the search of two domestic passengers on Tuesday.

On suspicion, the officials screened the baggage and found gold had been concealed inside a CPU, which was hidden in the baggage. There were 10 gold bars weighing one kg each and 18 gold bars weighing 100 g each.

Apart from this, jewelry was also concealed inside the CPU, according to a press release.

However. All two were arrested and further investigation is underway, officials said.
