Congress hits on KTR for distributing sarees

Hyderabad, August 20: The government is preparing to distribute free sarees to women during the biggest festival of Telangana, Bathukamma. With the intention to stand up to handloom, it has decided to distribute 90 lakh sarees with Rs.200 crore budget.

The govt handed over the 60lakh sarees to the Siricilla industry to handloom workers and Another 30 lakh saris were ordered to Surat Textile Mills.

There is widespread criticism of the government's decision. The Opposition Congress party has said that it is bad to ignore the fact that the handloom is not in Siricialla but there is companies in pochampalli, Koyyalagudem, Gadwala, Narayana Peta and Pottapaka.

The Congress has claimed that KTR is playing such cheap tricks to grab their position in the Siricilla by 2019. The Congress argues that the original Siricilla workers are not under handloom and they are using power looms.

However, the Handbook Department argument is different. Authorities say that the Sirililla workers have been given orders because they are using power looms.
