Two arrested for cheating job aspirants

Hyderabad, Aug 18: The Banjara Hills police have arrested two persons for allegedly cheating job aspirants to the tune of Rs 17 lakh on Thursday. They promised them jobs in the Indian Railways and collected money.

While coming to details, The suspects identified as Venkateshwar Reddy, 25, a B.Tech graduate and Rajesh, 30, an outsourced employee in the railways. Both residents of Ameerpet. The prime suspect Shiva Kumar, 30, is absconding.

According to the police, the gang promised three unemployed youngsters jobs in various positions in the Indian Railways. They claimed they had good contacts with officials and they can easily get through.

'On the pretext of providing jobs, they so far had collected Rs 17 lakh from them. When the complainants enquired, the suspects gave irrelevant replies and also started avoiding them," said G.Vinod Kumar, Sub-Inspector Banjara Hills adding that the victims grew suspicious when the culprits started asking them for more money.

Based on a complaint, a case was booked and being probed. Venkateshwar and Rajesh were produced before the court which further sent them to judicial remand.
