Drugs case on.... :Akun Sabharwal

Warangal Telangana Aug 17: A statement was issued yesterday.Akun Sabharwal Director of Prohibition and Excise Enforcement, in charge of SIT's investigation into the drug racket case, has said that "we are still summoning and questioning the suspects in the drugs case and added that filing of the charge sheets pertaining to these cases would begin from the next month".

He has said the above remarks in a press conference after the reviewing crime scenario with regard to excise department in the erstwhile Warangal district yesterday.

Sabharwal revealed that "they had arrested 22 persons and 11 cases were registered against them in connection with the drugs racket which was busted in the last month."



He added that "We are investigating the case by setting a timeline and also took the opinion of the legal experts to avoid the hurdles in the case".

He has also spoken in detail about the drug racket busted in Warangal district and said that awareness camps are being held up to educate the children so that they don't get addicted to drugs case.

Akun Sabharwal remarks assume significance because the special investigation team has questioned 12 Tollywood celebrities in the case and the film industry thought the case is over.

Sources say that SIT has prepared a second list of people to be questioned and two popular celebrities may be arrested because of the evidence gathered against them.
