153 items exempt for e-way bill

New Delhi Aug 16: India has smoothly rolled out Goods and Services Tax more than a month ago. The GST Council has given approval for E-way bills required for transportation of goods. The government has recently given exemptions on 153 items some of them are.

* LPG
* Kerosene
* Jewellery
* Currency
* Fruits and vegetables
* Bovine animals
* Swine and fish
* Fresh Milk
* Honey
* Seeds
* Cereals
* Flour
* Betel leaves
* Non-alcoholic toddy
* Raw silk
* Khadi
* Earthen pot
* Clay Lamps
* Puja Samagri
* Hearing Aids
* Human Hair
* Semen including frozen semen
* Condoms and contraceptives
* Postal Baggage
* Goods transported by non-motorised conveyances
* Goods transported from international ports to hinterland ports for clearance by customs

Above items don't require to obtain electronic permits for transportation under the GST regime.Under the proposed rule E-way Bills are required for transporting goods whose value is worth more than Rs 50000. Finally, traders are happy because of the exemptions were given.
