Fake certificates racket busted in Kurnool

Kurnool, Aug 14: The Kurnool Police have busted a fake educational certificates racket at the new bus stand here on Saturday night and a CPU and blank fake certificates were seized from him.

It may be recalled that following a complaint lodged with the Koutalam police on August 3 about the fake certificate racket, the police swung into action and nabbed the kingpin N Srinivasulu and 22 others at the municipal grounds in the town on August 6.

Fake rubber stamps and certificates were recovered from them. However, the computer operator was on the run since then.

Adoni CI Daiva Prasad and Koutalam Sub-Inspector Subrahmanya Reddy arrested the accused and presented the computer operator before DSP Kolli Srinivasa Rao.

According to the DSP, the racket kingpin operated from a lodge in Kurnool for the past eight years and appointed over 20 commission agents in the district to trap the unemployed, education dropouts, failed students, illiterate women and drivers and collected anything between Rs 1,000 and Rs 20,000 depending on the qualification required.
