Police busted inter-state human trafficking racket

Hyderabad, Aug 13: The Madhapur Police and Cyberabad Special Operations Team along with police teams from Hyderabadan inter-state human trafficking racket being operated by organizers in Hyderabad

The Police arrested seven persons including a woman organizer. Four women, all from Kolkata, were rescued.

The arrested were cheated the girls and sexually abusing them in a pretext of offering opportunities to become models and heroines in promotional and advertising campaigns.

According to police, on August 2, the Madhapur police had conducted raids on a flat in Madhapur and arrested six persons including the main organizer Rajesh Parwal. Based on his statement that a model from Kolkata was accommodated at a hotel in Bengaluru, the Cyberabad Police informed the Bengaluru Police, who then raided the hotel there and rescued the 22-year-old woman.

Police found that an agent from Kolkata, identified as Sanjay, had trafficked the woman and was sending women from Kolkata to different cities across the country.

The raid also saw three persons Gururaj Setty, Kiran Kumar Reddy and K Sravan Reddy being arrested from the same hotel. Police have also arrested Rajesh's wife Arti Parwal, Mohammed Afsar and Ajay Kumar Chowdhary, who are also organizers in the racket and rescued two other women, also from Kolkata from Madhapur.

Police said while teams are hunting for the Kolkata-based organizer Sanjay, they were also examining a proposal to detain the organizers under the Preventive Detention Act.
