TJAC Chairman Kodandaram arrested

Hyderabad, Aug 12: The Telangana Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram was arrested by police, who launched Amara Veerula Spoorthi Yatra of TJAC in Kamareddy district here on Friday.

Several activists of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee were injured after they were attacked allegedly by TRS workers who objected Amara Veerula Spoorthi Yatra of TJAC.Meanwhile, police stopped Kodandaram's yatra and took him into custody.

Prof. Kodandaram was scheduled to visit Kamareddy to address a public meeting as part of the fourth phase of Amara Veerula Spoorthi Yatra which he began today.

However, Kodandaram was stopped at Kamareddy's border at Baswapur by some TRS activists. This led to an altercation between the TJAC and TRS workers. To prevent the situation from deteriorating further, police took Kodandaram into custody and shifted him to the Biknoor police station.

Meanwhile, the TJAC and TRS workers also clashed at public meeting venue where ruling party workers ransacked tents and chairs.

While speaking to media persons after his arrest, Kodandaram said he would continue his yatra despite obstacles being created by the police. Indirectly targeting the TRS Government, he alleged that his voice was being suppressed for exposing irregularities.
