Phalaj Nilahani sacked ,Prasoon Joshi appointed as CBFC cheif

New Delhi Aug 12: An event took place. Censor board and its members have been revamped.The board Cheif Pahlaj Nihalani was sacked yesterday.

Prasoon Joshi was appointed as the new chief of the Central Board of Film Certification.The new chief is a lyricist and has written lyrics for the anthem of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swacch Bharat campaign.

He has spoken to media after his appointment and has said that" With good intent, I will try to make as much difference as I can. I think there is some sort of understanding that needs to be brought in. I have believed that right and responsibilities are better served with constructive contribution".

Joshi has also said that "one hopes to make a positive difference with the guidance and support of respected minds.Right now my priority will be to understand the work assigned to me".He will serve as chief for 3 years or until further orders.

Nihalani the former chief has been facing criticism for his autocratic conduct and of morally policing films. He recently had demanded multiple cuts in the following films

# Lipstick Under My Burkha.
# Indu Sarkar.
# Babumoshai Bandookbaaz.
