Sitaram Yechury about new Rajya Sabha Chairman

New Delhi Aug 11: India's new vice president has taken his charge.M Venkaiah Naidu has become the new chairman of the Rajya Sabha.All the MPs have welcomed the new chairman by giving their speeches.

Sitaram Yechury a communist party leader has made a warm heartening speech. He has said that "You'll be making your first remarks as Chair today and I will be making my last remarks to the Chair in the House today."

He has also said that " You're sitting under two symbols - Ashoka chakra and the scales of justice. I'm confident you will uphold that".



Finally, he has said that "You and I have grown up in our mother tongue, Telugu." He has spoken in Telugu and said that "we have 40 years of friendship after we knew from college days".

He has reminded of famous poet Gurujada Apparao and said that
"The country is not its brick and mortar, the country is its people and I hope that will be in your mind as you make decisions."
