Railway Police seized 24.5 Kgs ganja, 1 arrested

Tirupati, Aug 10: The Railway Police Force officials have seized 24.5 kg of ganja from a passenger near old foot overbridge in Tirupati railway station, here on Wednesday.

According to RPF CI Nagarjuna Rao, the passenger was nabbed during a special drive conducted by the officials as he was found moving suspiciously with two massive shoulder bags.

Further investigation revealed that the accused Murugan (45), hailing from Theni district of Tamil Nadu, had traveled from Tenali to Tirupati via Sabari Express on August 8 and was awaiting to board a train to Viluppuram.

The accused was handed over to task force officials of Excise Department.They have started further investigation too.
