CM KCR laid foundation stone for Sriram Sagar Project

Telangana, Pochampad, Aug 10: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has laid a foundation stone for the Sriramsagar Project(SRSP) Supplementation Scheme, at Pochampad here on Thursday.

He also inaugurated a pylon at the project flood canal which is being set up at a cost of Rs. 2 crores and is aimed to irrigate 16 acres under SRSP.

The SRSP aimed at irrigating 14 lakh acre spread over five north Telangana districts through reversible pumping of Godavari water from Kaleshwaram reservoir.

The State government has taken up the revival of the much-neglected SRSP, earlier known as a Pochampad project, at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore which includes Rs 1,000 for modernisation of the project and Rs 1,000 for stage-II canal modernisation.

Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Warangal, and Khammam would be major beneficiaries of the project.
