Maratha Morcha Huge protest in Mumbai

Mumbai Aug 9: A huge rally took place today. More than 800,000 Maratha people have protested in Mumbai and they have blocked Mumbai traffic.

The Marathas have demanded quota reservations in government jobs and colleges for students. Currently the population constitutes 33 percent of Maharashtra's population.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured the protestors that "his government supports affirmative action policies for the dominant caste."

* The protestors marched in Mumbai Wearing saffron caps and carrying flags.

* The protest was called "Maratha Morcha" and said that it was not a political group but it was a state youth demanding jobs.

Finally, they have demanded they would intensify the strike in future if their demands are not agreed.
