Srilankan Navy Aressts 9 Indian Fisherman

Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu Aug 8: An arrest took place recently.Sri Lankan Navy has apprehended Nine Indian Fisherman and two boats from the Palk Strait area yesterday.

Sources say that The fishermen belong to Pudukkottai and Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. Officials said that the fishermen have been taken to Kankesanthurai Naval camp for interrogation by the Sri Lankan Navy.

Meanwhile, two other Indian fishermen went missing after they have been attacked and pushed in mid-sea by people on the board of the Sri Lankan Navy boat P-439 last night.

currently Indian Navy is conducting search operations for missing fisherman and they would talk to Sri Lankan government to release the fisherman.
