SC:Centralised system for Judges appoitment soon

New Delhi Aug 5: A reform would be taken soon.
The Supreme Court yesterday on Friday has indicated that it would soon initiate a process of centralised selection mechanism for appointment of judicial officers in the subordinate courts .

The SC has said that the new mechanism formed would appoint judges even if there is no amicable consensus among various the high courts and the states.

The Apex court has also indicated that it would try to resolve all the objections of state governments and High courts in this issue on August 22.

Sources say that Court has taken this decision because currently, judges of Lower courts are appointed by High Courts which is a lengthy and cumbersome process.The process is decentralized and it takes much time to complete the selection process.

The move would also help to reduce the pending cases in lower courts and would ensure justice is delivered on time.Currently the cases in India run up to 15 -20 years, the vacancies of judges in the court is huge. Let's hope that new centralized system would cut short the delay.
