Motor Vehicle Bill to RS select committee

New Delhi, AUG 5: An important bill is deferred. The Government has agreed to send the Motor vehicle Amendment Bill 2016 to the select committee of the Rajyasabha.

Nitin Gadkari Union Minister has said that we have tried to allay the fear and tried to convince the opposition regarding the smooth passage of the bill in next week but we have failed.

Earlier opposition members including Congress and TMC have objected the bill and said that standing committee provisions are not totally accepted and there are some stringent rules and punishments which hamper the transport sector.



This decision was taken after an all party meeting was convened by Deputy chairman. Sources say that the committee will submit its report in next session. Finally, the parties will suggest names to the committee and a motion would be moved in coming days.
