SCR held surprise checks at Secunderabad

During the drives, an amount of Rs 2.41 lakh was collected as a penalty from unauthorized hawkers.

As part of the drive, a surprise check was conducted at the Secunderabad Railway Station on Tuesday. The sleuths from commercial and security branch of Hyderabad Division took part in the surprise check.

In Special Drives, Satavahana Express, Falaknuma Express, Visakha Express and Godavari Express trains were checked on the platform and a total of 92 unauthorized hawkers/vendors selling food items at the station were caught and produced before the Special Judicial Magistrate for Railways. An amount of Rs 1,38,000 was imposed as fine on unauthorized vendors.

BD Christopher, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, K Senthil, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, 16 ticket checking staff, 10 commercial inspectors and 10 RPF staff of Hyderabad Division participated in the surprise check.
