Old notes worth Rs 97.50 lakhs seized

Nagpur, Aug 2: Another seizure took place recently. The police yesterday have seized Rs 97. 50 lakh demonetised currency. The Assistant Commissioner of Police Somnath Waghchoure said that we have acted after a tip off was received.
He has said that we have raided a flat in Koradi Road area of Nagpur city around 5.30 pm on August 1 and have seized old note worth ninety-seven lakhs of RS 500 and RS 1000 notes.
ACP has also said that we have nabbed the person after a 44-year-old man had tried to exchange the new notes with the legal tender by some businessmen. The police have taken Prasanna Paradhi into custody and further investigation is being carried out .
