Arvind Panagariya resigns as Niti Aayog Vice Chairman

New Delhi, Aug 1: A government official has quit. Arvind Panagariya has resigned as Niti Aayog Vice Chairman. He was appointed the Vice Chairman of Government's think tank policy making body National Institute of Transforming India. The body was formed after prime minister has abolished planning Commission.

PM Modi has appointed him as VC on January 1, 2015. He is a popular Economist and he has advised the government many key reforms. Recently A committee was formed under his membership for reforming health and Education sector in India.

Sources say that the reason for his resignation is not yet revealed. Let's hope that he rejoins the government.
